Why Telework is Essential to Your Agency COOP Strategy

DISA completed its move in July from Arlington, Virginia to Fort Meade, Maryland as part of the latest Defense Department’s Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) mandate. In anticipation of the headquarters relocation, DISA worked for more than five years to implement an organizational telework program that would ease the geographic transition for its workforce—nearly 75% of whom lived in Virginia. In addition, given the mission of DISA to “enable information dominance in of our nation,” the agency leadership has been focused on ensuring stable and reliable operations, including Continuity of Operations (COOP).
