Air Force awards satellite support contract to Harris

Harris Information Technology Services Corp. has won a $65 million contract option to provide the U.S. Air Force with operations, maintenance and logistics support of the Air Force Satellite Control Network, reported Washington Technology, a Defense Systems sister publication.

The award follows a $550 million contract modification awarded to Honeywell Technology Solutions to provide system and maintenance engineering, network support and integration.

Harris said it will also provide maintenance and logistics support of Global Positioning System antenna sites around the world. Work is expected to be completed by Sept. 2014.
