Medical device company wins major contract for military imaging work

The Defense Department is turning to a provider of dental and medical imaging systems to archive and transmit military related images. Carestream Health, Rochester, NY, was awarded a $45 million modification exercising the first option year of a two-year base contract (with one two-year option and one one-year option) for a digital imaging network-picture archive communications system.

The contracting agency was Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, Philadelphia, Pa., and services can be accessed by the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and federal civilian agencies.
