Northrop to assist Air Force with R&D for intelligence tools

A Northrop Grumman unit will furnish research and development services for intelligence tools used by the Air Force and other federal agencies under a $40.5 million contract, the Defense Department said April 9.

Under the indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contrct, Northrop Grumman Information Systems will furnish R&D, integration, deployment and sustainment for the Secure Access Baseline for the EnterpRise (SABER) multi-level access solutions for the Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Agency, Homeland Security Department, Defense Intelligence Agency and other intelligence community members and Defense Department agencies, DOD said.

SABER is desktop technology with virtualization features for use by intelligene agencies, according to procurement documents. SABER has extremely strict security requirements.

The company will perform the work, which is scheduled to be completed in April 2018, in Herndon, Va.

The contracting activity is Air Force Research Laboratory/RIKF, Rome, N.Y.
