Navy picks 4 to supply battlespace awareness technologies

Four companies will help the Navy develop battlespace awareness capabilities and related hardware and software through a $98.7 million multiple-award contract, the Defense Department said.
The contract winners are:
- Global Technical Systems
- Sentek Global
- Skylla Engineering
- UEC Electronics
Under the contract, the companies will furnish battlespace awareness services, such as the integration and testing of systems of systems focused on the delivery of battlespace awareness, intelligence capabilities and systems, as well as the integrated employment of information operations capabilities, the Nov. 2 announcement said.
The companies also will develop, integrate and test intelligence, battlespace awareness and information operations applications and dedicated hardware, DOD said.
The estimated value of the first year of the contract is $19.7 million, but it is potentially worth $98.7 million over five years, according to the announcement. The contract expires in November 2017.
The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic, Charleston, S.C., is the contracting activity.
