L-3 wins contract to supply VideoScout to Navy, Marines

L-3 Communications has won a contract potentially worth $85 million over four years to furnish the Marine Corps and the Navy with technology and support for its VideoScout intelligence data processing system, the company said Oct. 25.

Under the indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract, L-3 will supply new VideoScout equipment, modify existing equipment and develop new system enhancements for the Marine Corps Systems Command and the Navy, the company said.

L-3’s VideoScout is a group of interoperable systems that are capable of capturing, processing and exploiting video and telemetry gathered from manned and unmanned airborne platforms. The system gives frontline tacticians and intelligence analysts the ability to process vast amounts of video data into concise, easily shared video intelligence to improve mission operations.

Once data is received by VideoScout, users can create derivative video files and still images, and also annotate, geo-reference, store and share the resulting intelligence video with others in the battlespace.
