Navy qualifies more contractors for SeaPort-e

SeaPort-e got a little bigger on July 12 when the Navy added 385 contractors to the already 2,501 on the huge multiple award contract, reports Washington Technology, a sister website of Defense Systems.
The new awards were made across 22 functional areas including research and development support, systems engineering, modeling and simulation, analysis, software engineering, quality assurance, IT support, acquisition logistics support, training, and public affairs and multimedia support, the story said.
In its announcement, the Navy said that $5.3 billion worth of services are acquired through SeaPort-e each year, the story said. The service received 415 bids for this round SeaPort-e contracts; they made 385 awards.
