C-130 might get maritime ISR makeover

Lockheed Martin plans to offer a maritime surveillance version of its C-130J Super Hercules transport aircraft to customers around the globe, reports Flightglobal.
In phase one of the program, the company would configure the four-engine turboprop as a maritime intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance aircraft, the story said.
Phase two of the program would add weapons, such as Hellfire missiles, and a targeting system, the story said. The weaponization of the aicraft for international sale would have to be approved by the U.S. government.
