The Defense Department is establishing a new approach to health IT systems in Maui, Hawaii, as a proof-of-concept demonstration for information management and IT products and services to support the Defense Department's medical readiness requirements and modernization needs, reports Healthcare IT News.
Under a five-year, $300 million TRICARE Management Activity contract, Longview International Technology Solutions will develop the Pacific Joint Information Technology Center (JITC), the story said.
The mission of the Military Health Systems JITC will be to research, test and develop medical solutions and products through a series of pilots or prototypes that deliver mission-critical value and actionable information to the Defense and Veterans Affairs departments, the story said.
