China's navy to develop UAVs to hunt submarines

China's People's Liberation Army Navy has begun deploying unmanned aerial vehicles aboard its ships, UPI reports.

The long-term strategy behind the deployment is to develop the UAVs for the purpose of hunting foreign submarines, the story said.

The Chinese military is exploring ways to equip the UAVs with genetic algorithm software that would enable them to make deductions about contacts through the use of a search engine that discards feeble conclusions and improves the best to make stronger ones, the story said.
