Shyu nominated for Army acquisition chief

President Barack Obama has nominated Heidi Shyu to serve as the Army's top weapons buyer, reports Defense News.

Shyu is acting assistant secretary of the Army for acquisition, logistics and technology. If confirmed, Shyu would drop acting from her title.

Before taking a Defense Department job, Shyu was vice president of technology strategy for airborne and space systems at Raytheon and also served as vice chair of the Air Force Scientific Advisory Board, the story said.
