The World Surveillance Group has completed an initial demonstration of its Argus One unmanned airship at the Energy Department’s Nevada Test Site, company officials said
The mid-altitude, lighter-than-air unmanned airship is designed to hover above the earth's surface for several days at a time during which it would operate up to 30 pounds of high technology sensors, cameras and electrical equipment, according to a company statement.
The demonstration is the first in a series planned for 2012, the officials said. The Defense Department is sponsoring the demonstrations, according to media reports.
