The Navy plans to select a single winner for its Next Generation Enterprise Network even though it issued two separate solicitations for the project, reports Washington Technology.
The service is asking for a combined response to the two solicitations expected to be worth a total of $10 billion over five years, Brian Haney, Deltek’s vice president of client services, said Nov. 3 at the company’s FedFocus 2012 event.
Hewlett-Packard, the incumbent contractor on the Navy/Marine Corps Intranet project, plans to bid on the contract as do Harris and Computer Sciences Corp., the news outlet said. Request for proposals are scheduled to be released before Dec. 31, and the Navy plans to award the contract by December 2012.
