Boston Dynamics, the company that developed the quadrupedal BigDog robot designed to carry troops' gear, is putting the finishing touches on a two-legged, headless robot that goes by the name Petman, reports Spencer Ackerman at Wired's Danger Room blog
The Protection Ensemble Test Mannequin weighs about 180 pounds and has a blinking red light where its head should be.
The company developed Petman
, which can simulate human physiological conditions such as sweating, as a way for the Army to test chemical protection clothing before issuing it to soldiers.
