Bell Helicopter’s OH-58 Kiowa Warrior successfully demonstrated its ability to receive sensor video from a variety of the Army’s large unmanned aircraft systems at the service’s Manned Unmanned System Integration Capability (MUSIC) demonstration held in September at Dugway Proving Ground, Utah, company officials said Oct. 11.
During the demonstration, the Kiowa Warrior received UAS sensor payload video and telemetry, transmitted UAS sensor payload video and telemetry to a UAS ground control station, and transmitted its own sensor payload video and telemetry to the ground station for target verification, the officials said.
MUSIC, which tested the ability of manned and unmanned systems to share sensor payload video, was the first demonstration of its type in which manned and unmanned systems operated under a single commander, they said.
