Cobham’s Sparta Inc. unit, also known as Cobham Analytic Solutions, has won nine task orders to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) that are worth a total of $227 million over two years.
The task orders were awarded under MDA’s Engineering and Support Services contract. Work will include weapons engineering, flight tests, command, control, communications and battle management, operations support, modeling and simulation, component testing, facilities, laser systems engineering and space systems engineering.
The Missile Defense Agency is a long time customer of Sparta’s and Cobham’s, the company said in a statement.
The work will be performed primarily in the Washington, D.C. area, Huntsville, Ala., and Colorado Springs, Colo.
Cobham, a United Kingdom-based company, acquired Sparta in 2008.
