The Defense Department is putting the finishing touches on a cyber defense plan, expected to be official in a matter of days, that will stress better ways to organize, train and equip those pursuing cyber bandits, reports Marcus Weisgerber of Defense News.
The new strategy highlights the importance of a flexible structure as the cyber environment evolves and international participation in an effort that will be led by the State Department, a DOD official told Defense News.
Meanwhile, DOD introduced a pilot program that uses the department's cyber defense tools to protect industry networks from hackers, which is also vital to the nation's cybersecurity.
