The Marine Corps Headquarters has hired BearingPoint Inc. to manage its information resources and improve the efficiency of business processes under a five-year, $22.3 million contract.
BearingPoint will furnish information management services on a task-order basis. Through the task orders, the company will support and enhance systems and applications that will enable the Marines to comply with the Defense Department’s established budgeting and planning processes.
The McLean, Va., management and technology consulting company also will advise Marine Corps headquarters on how to improve processes by using strategies such as Lean Six Sigma. In addition, the company will manage and support a suite of systems that operate the Marine Corps’ programs and resources portal.
In the course of its work, BearingPoint will support several key technologies that will be used to improve Marine Corps’ processes, including custom-built applications that use Oracle Database, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Cognos business intelligence software.
