Expand Networks demonstrates WAN optimization over low-bandwidth, high-latency links

Expand Networks is demonstrating wide-area network optimization over low-bandwidth, high-latency links at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., this week during the 2008 LandWarNet Conference. The company’s optimization technology, the Accelerator Operating System, enables ground, air and maritime forces to achieve better bandwidth throughput, accelerated network performance, comprehensive network management and significant cost savings.

Awarded the U.S. Army’s Warfighter Information Network-Tactical TCP Performance Enhancing Proxy contract earlier this year, Expand Networks has also integrated its product line into the U.S. Air Force JSTARS program.

WAN Optimization can help to provide solutions to problems such as the limited availability and reduced bandwidth of traditional beyond-line-of-sight ultra-high-frequency tactical satellite communication networks, which struggle to provide adequate throughput and application performance for network-centric warfare.
