1105 Government Information Group presents a panel of government and cybersecurity experts, including Jeffrey Carr, cyber strategies consultant and author of Inside Cyber Warfare; Dean Lindstrom, strategic cybersecurity architect and CEO of Cyberström LLC, in partnership with Merlin International; and Dr. George Stein, director of the Cyberspace and Information Operations Study Center, Air War College, U.S. Air Force, in this recent editorial eSeminar, where they discuss the cyberwarfare threat to both industry and government, as well as strategies to consolidate the wider cybersecurity mission.
Last year’s conflict between Georgia and Russia was considered one of the first examples of cyberwarfare. According to a recent report by the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission, Chinese military strategists now consider information dominance as the precursor for military success in a conflict. At the same time, recent exploitation of Google networks in China have renewed the government’s commitment to working with industry to better meet the cybersecurity threat. As domestic cyber incidents probe the U.S. energy grid and target the wider government infrastructure, the need to consolidate defenses and implement a nationwide strategy has grown increasingly clear.
