ARTEL of Reston, Va., was awarded a COMSATCOM Transponded Capacity task order by the Defense Information Systems Agency Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DISA-DITCO), under the Future COMSATCOM Services Acquisition (FCSA) contract.
The company will deliver Ku-band satellite bandwidth to support the U.S. Air Force Central Command along with satellite link analysis, RF monitoring support, and host nation approval support for terminal licenses for host country operations.
"ARTEL has worked closely with our DISA-DITCO customer for more than 10 years," said Ted Hengst, ARTEL CEO. "We are proud to provide a solution that ensures our customer achieves their mission of delivering operationally responsive, customer-focused, and cost-effective commercial SATCOM services that enable the Joint Warfighter."
ARTEL joins dozens of vendors as part of FCSA, which offers a more cost-effective solution to leasing commercial satellite services by opening competition. FCSA replaces the legacy DSTS-G contract, in which ARTEL also participated.
