TCS to furnish wireless comms support to Marines

The Marine Corps will provide $16.1 million in incremental funding to TeleCommunication Systems to furnish it with secure communications technology for tactical use, the company said March 8.

Under the contract, TCS will furnish deployed engineering services for its wireless point to point link (WPPL) systems in theater, the company said.

The WPPL systems purchase is part of the continuing effort to deliver secure, reliable and easily deployable communications equipment to soldiers and Marines, the company said.

The Army Project Manager for the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical's Commercial Satellite Terminal Program is overseeing the procurement through the service's World-Wide Satellite Systems program, the company said.
