Vistronix buys geospatial software business

Vistronix has acquired geospatial and data visualization software provider Technology Associates International in a move to enhance its national security IT capabilities, Vistronix said Jan. 7. Terms were not disclosed.

Stafford, Va.-based Technology Associates International furnishes highly specialized geospatial and data visualization software applications and systems, as well as builds and operates command and control centers. Its military customers include the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and U.S. Strategic Command.

The acquisition of Technology Associates International gives Reston, Va.-based Vistronix the ability to compete as a mid-tier prime contractor with national security capabilities, Vistronix officials said.

Through the acquisition, Vistronix gains 450 additional employees.
