7 vie for $1.4B worth of DISA network services tasks

The Defense Department has awarded seven companies a seat on a multiple-award contract worth $1.4 billion over five years to compete for task orders in support of the existing and future Defense Information System Network (DISN), Defense Information Systems Agency officials said Jan. 2.

Under the Global Information Grid Services Management Engineering, Transition and Implementation contract, the companies will furnish engineering and integration services, connection approval and IT service management activities for DISN networking capabilities. 

The awardees are:

  • Digital Management
  • Onyx-Technica Joint Venture
  • NES Associates
  • Cambridge International Systems
  • TurningPoint-EMW Joint Venture
  • By Light Professional IT Services
  • IPKeys Technologies

The base contract of $568 million is for a two-year period. Options exist to extend the contract for five years.

The companies will perform the work mostly in the continental United States. Some support services also will be required at multiple overseas locations.

The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization, Scott Air Force Base, Ill., is the contracting activity.
