ITT Exelis to support Navy persistent awareness network

ITT Exelis has won a five-year, $93.2 million contract from the Navy to support a critical command and control system designed to deliver persistent situational awareness to naval forces, the Defense Department said.

Under the indefinite-delivery, indefinte-quantity contract, the company will design, install and maintain the Navy's Adaptive Persistent Awareness System, the DOD said Nov. 20.      

Adaptive Persistent Awareness System is an integrated network that furnishes command, control, communication, computers and also intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.     

The company will peform the work at various naval facilities worldwide. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division, Panama City, Fla., is the contracting authority.
