ITT Exelis snares $217M Army contract for night vision equipment

ITT Exelis has been won an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract estimated to be worth as much as $217.5 million from the Army to provide Generation 3 aviation night vision systems, spare parts and accessories, the company said Oct. 23.

The contract enables the company to compete for deliveries of the AN/AVS-6 aviator night vision goggle and spare aviation image intensifiers over a five-year period, the company said.

The Generation 3 AN/AVS-6 aviator night vision system, which features an auto-gated Gen 3 Pinnacle image intensifier, allows warfighters to conduct and complete night operations during the darkest nights of the year, the company said.
