Northrop receives $88M Global Hawk Block 30 support deal

Northrop Grumman has received an $88 million cost-plus, fixed-fee contract to furnish logistics support for the RQ-4 Global Hawk Block 30, the Defense Department said October 17. The company will perform the work in San Diego, Calif. 

The Air Force's 2013 budget plan called for mothballing the Global Hawk Block 30 variant to save money, but Congress objected to the idea, according to media reports.

The existing logistics support contract was scheduled to expire in September, media reports said. The new contract award extends support for one more year.
