General Dynamics gears up for Marine Corps C4ISR work

General Dynamics Information Technology has won a 42-month, $94.4 million task order to assist the Marine Corps with IT, logistics and program management support for command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems, the company said Sept. 25.

Marine Corps intelligence units rely on the C4ISR systems to obtain critical information and to communicate in a global environment with other U.S. troops and coalition forces. 

The task order was awarded under the Defense Intelligence Agency's Solutions for the Information Technology Enterprise contract, which was awarded to multiple contractors in 2010.

The company will perform the work in Afghanistan, Bahrain, Okinawa and at key installations in the continental United States.
