Air Force takes aim at DART intell system expansion

The Air Force has chosen NCI Inc. to integrate and expand an intelligence IT platform across the branch's analysis system under a two-year competitive task order worth $5 million, according to a Feb. 16 NCI announcement.
The Network Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) contract task order calls for NCI to standardize and integrate the Distributed Common Ground System’s (DCGS) Analysis and Reporting Team (DART) system.

NCI will partner with Raytheon to provide a solution for the DART standardization and integration requirement that not only eliminates unnecessary spending for duplicate systems, tools and software, but also enables DCGS operators to perform DART functions smarter and faster, the announcement said.
The Distributed Common Ground System is the Air Force’s premier globally networked intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance weapon system.
DART analysts need to be able to perform timely queries, to a variety of internal and external sources, correlate data, produce products, and post those products to the appropriate locations to enable the timely and effective use of the ISR data.
This effort is part of the “DART Standardization Across the Enterprise” initiative focused on standardizing a set of multi-intelligence tools that are used in support of DCGS missions.
The DCGS program is managed by the 480th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va.
