Mobile apps could lead to better UAV sensors

DARPA seeks smartphone application developers for Adaptable Sensor System program

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is looking for smartphone application developers to help the military speed the development of sensors for unmanned aerial vehicles, reports InformationWeek.

Through the agency's Adaptable Sensor System program, developers with that kind of experience would design and create sensor technology that works on devices similar to smart phones for use in unmanned aerial vehicles.

The pre-solicitation notice for the sensor project is posted on the FedBizOpps.gov website.
