BAE partners on visualization for virtual command centers

Military commanders at locations around the globe would be able to meet in a virtual command center as a result of new technology being developed through a partnership between BAE Systems and Daden, BAE officials said in a Nov. 18 news release.

The companies have inked an agreement for visual analytics provider Daden, of Birmingham, England, to speed the development of its 3-D immersive visual analytics application that customers can use for collaborative analysis and understanding various types of data.

The application would pull in stored or real-time information from such sources as databases and Web feeds, social and computer network data, sensors, Global Positioning System trackers and other sources. Users would be able to view the data in various environments, including a virtual command center for operations management.
