Army launches core financial management system worldwide

The Army's General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) is now serving Army organizations and functions around the globe that have nearly 40,000 users, the Army News Service reported Oct. 24.

When fully deployed in fiscal 2012, GFEBS will have about 60,000 users at some 200 locations worldwide. The enterprise system fully or partially replaces more than 106 information systems.

GFEBS, which uses re-engineered business processes and data structures, records financial transactions with supporting documentation, tracks transactions to a detailed level and produces an auditable trial balance.
