DIA considers 'common development kit' for intell apps

The Defense Intelligence Agency is considering the creation of "a common development kit" that would produce interoperable "widgets" that could be used by analysts throughout the intelligence community, reports Defense News.

The widget framework would need to be rigid, Grant Schneider, DIA's CIO said in an Oct. 25 speech at an event in Washington.

He cited as an example Apple's requirements for developers interested in building applications for the company's devices.
