Navy gets help with integrated communications
SAIC will provide support to Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division
Science Applications International Corp. will help the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division develop and refine communications and information systems under a task order worth as much as $39 million over five years.
Under the task order, SAIC will furnish a wide range of technical and program support to the aircraft division’s Integrated Communications and Information Systems (ICIS) Division, company officials said today. The company will provide contract, organizational and project management support, and acquisition services in support of various projects, the officials said.
Among the projects that will receive this support are systems for ship radio and aircraft communications, automatic identification, and unmanned vehicle communication and control. The work also entails information assurance and technical development support.
The ICIS Division performs engineering, development, acquisition, integration and installation tasks related to communications, electronics and information systems for the Defense Department and other federal agencies.
The Navy awarded the task order through its SeaPort-e program.
