DFAS halts policy that fired employees over credit scores

Following a congressional inquiry, the Defense Finance and Accounting Service on March 30 announced that it would temporarily shelve a policy which suspended or terminated DFAS employees who posted low credit scores.
Rep. Dennis Kucinich, (D-Ohio), and three other members of the Ohio congressional delegation last month requested the agency hold off on the policy that has resulted in what the lawmakers called an “unjust suspension of employees.”

DFAS informed Kucinich that the agency will put the policy on hold until it is reviewed by a team of professional auditors. The review will look at the policy and the underlying regulations that triggered the job actions, DFAS told Kucinich.
