Navy calls up support for LCS program office
CSC will deliver business and financial management, life-cycle engineering services
The Navy has awarded a contract worth up to $169 million over five years to Computer Sciences Corp. to furnish an array of support services to the Littoral Combat Ship Program Office.
Under the contract, CSC will provide program, business and financial management support to the LCS Program Office, company officials said today. The company also will supply life-cycle engineering services and production planning for LCS frames and combat systems.
The small, maneuverable surface combat ships, which are intended for operations close to shore, are being built by Lockheed Martin Corp. and General Dynamics Corp.
The Navy awarded the contract through the SeaPort Enhanced acquisition program. The program allows the Navy to contract for services in 22 functional areas.
