Army classrooms to get digital makeover

New platform will connect to remote facilities, reserve organizations

General Dynamics Information Technology has won a $110.3 million contract to modernize classroom training technology for the Army Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command.

The one-year contract was awarded under the Information Technology Enterprise Technology Solutions -2 Services contract, General Dynamics officials said Oct. 28. General Dynamics Information Technology is a business unit of General Dynamics Corp.

The contract calls for the company to deliver a digital platform for schoolhouse instructors to conduct training, the officials said. The platform should also make it possible to communicate from the schoolhouse to remote training facilities and reserve organizations.

General Dynamics will provide surveying, engineering, design, systems integration, procurement, staging, installation, testing, training, sustainment and technical assistance support to the Army and its classroom sites across the country for the Technology Classroom Modernization Program.
