Marine Corps acquisition-services contract awarded

Five-year contract has an estimated value of $29 million

Avineon Inc. will provide technical support and management oversight to the Marines Corps under a five-year contract with an estimated value of $29 million.

The information technology services contract is designed to support the Marine Corps Systems Command Office of the Command Information Officer (OCIO).

The initial tasks include project management, service desk, development services, information assurance, and data center management – all aimed at supporting Marine Corps’ acquisition activities.

The contractor also will apply its streamlined and structured processes to improve the interoperability, maintainability and efficiency of the OCIO’s software infrastructure, reduce long-term operation costs and regularly review processes and procedures.
