Marines to receive systems engineering support
Contract option is worth almost $12 million
QinetiQ North America will continue to assist the Marine Corps with systems engineering support under a one-year contract option worth $11.7 million.
The Marine Corps Systems Command Acquisition Center for Support Services awarded QinetiQ North America a prime contract for continued services to MSCS’s Deputy Commander, Systems Engineering, Interoperability, Architectures and Technology (DC, SIAT).
The one-year option was awarded to the contractor’s Systems Engineering Group under the Commercial Enterprise Omnibus support services Engineering and Scientific domain and extends the one-year base period contract awarded in April 2008.
DC, SIAT is responsible for ensuring that materiel solutions developed or acquired by the MCSC and the Program Executive Officer for Land Systems are systems-engineered, integrated, interoperable, and certified, QinetiQ officials said.
To that end, DC, SIAT conducts detailed systems engineering, establishes technical policies and guidance. It also manages the technical analysis and distributed planning required to deliver world-class Marine Corps systems to the Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF).
As the prime contractor, QinetiQ North America will provide a wide range of engineering services and analytic support in the areas of MAGTF and Joint Systems Integration, Joint Certification, Systems Engineering Policy and Processes, and Architecture Design and Development, the officials said.
