Welcome to Defense Systems 2.0
On the heels of redesigning the hard-copy version of Defense Systems, we've just completed a total overhaul of our Web presence. The goal is to make our site — and Defense Systems as a whole — more useful, informative and relevant to the defense information systems and C4ISR community. In other words, we're striving to become a situational awareness tool for Defense Department IT and C4ISR professionals.
To achieve that goal, we've done a lot to help you get to the information you're looking for faster, with improved navigation by category and topic of content. We've also added a lot of functionality to the site, including better ways to interact with Defense Systems — more RSS feeds, a better system for reader comments on stories, and tools to allow you to share the content of the site with others via a number of bookmarking and social news services.
But most importantly, we're going to be delivering more information to you, and faster. As we did with August's LandWarNet conference, DefenseSystems.com is going to deliver breaking coverage of defense IT and C4ISR events, in addition to other features and content that go beyond what we can do in print. We'll continue to provide in-depth stories on Defense Department technology projects and the latest in information technology for the warfighter in print and online, and build comprehensive online resources on the topics most critical to you--from UAVs to RFID, from the budget outlook to the battlespace.
But as with all dot-0 releases, we need user feedback to make sure we're on target. If there's something you want from Defensesystems.com, let us know: e-mail me at sgallagher@1105media.com and help us bracket the target and fire for effect.
