No Senate vote, no GPO chief

Public Printer Bill Boarman will step down at the end of the Congressional session after the Senate did not vote to confirm him, according to a statement from the Government Printing Office.

As a recess appointee, Boarman has led the GPO for the last 20 months while waiting for confirmation. In November, two Republican senators dropped the hold on Boarman's nomination, but new objections arose Saturday, according to a Washington Post article. Without confirmation before the end of the year, recess appointees must step down from their posts.

Depressing and insane. Don't see the sense in the level of pettiness. How are these antics making gov any more efficient? Toooooo frustrating and beyond reasonable.
