New officer appointments to Cyber Command, acquisition

The Army's main acquisition office and Cyber Command will receive new additions according to a Dec. 5 general officers announcement.

Brig. Gen. Joseph L. Bass will serve as director for contracting in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology in Washington, D.C. He previously served as the commanding general of Expeditionary Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala. ECC provides contracting support to Army and other federal installations outside the continental U.S.

Brig. Gen. George J. Franz III has been assigned to be director, current operations, J-33, U.S. Cyber Command in Fort Meade, Md. He most recently served as chief, CJ-2 with the International Security Assistance Force Joint Command, part of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
