SBA honors computer simulation exec
Waymon Armstrong, owner of a small business that uses video game-based computer simulations to help government and business clients train for emergencies, has been named the Small Business Administration's National Small Business Person of the Year.
Engineering and Computer Simulations Inc. (ECS), based in Orlando, Fla., offers game-based simulation systems and interactive performance assessment tools that train emergency medical personnel and emergency management teams. The training teaches the teams how to cooperate during a natural disaster or emergency. Also, ECS’s simulation training teaches employees who manage unmanned vehicles to launch and operate the vehicles.
SBA administrator Karen Mills gave Armstrong the award May 25 during a National Small Business Week event.
