Army seeks managed services assistance for tactical communications

The Army is seeking a provider of managed communications services to furnish network and services in support of the Program Executive Office for Command, Control and Communications-Tactical assets, according to a government solicitation.

A sources sought notice outlining the desired requirements and capabilities was published Nov. 26 on the FedBizOpps website.

The service is seeking a turnkey solution that would include multiple redundant teleports and satellites, redundant network peering centers, tactical assistance centers and a network operations security center.

Other key requirements are no reprogramming or reconfiguration of equipment so that assigned IP addresses and phone numbers can roam the network, ability to expand call available bandwidth on demand, multiple satellite teleports connected via dedicated terrestrial circuits to a private multiprotocol label switching-based network, secure  and redundant coverage of all 54 U.S. states and territories, and portable IP addressing and telephone numbers.

The Army envisions awarding a five-year indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract. Responses are due Dec. 6.
