2011 AUSA to offer insight into Army’s future force strength
Panetta, McHugh, Dempsey among speaker lineup

The 2011 Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting and Exposition will be held Oct. 10-12, and Defense Systems staff will be on site to furnish timely and comprehensive coverage of presentations by top Defense Department and Army civilian and military officials.
The theme of this year’s annual meeting is “America’s Army: The Strength of the Nation.” The event will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
Our reporters will provide timely reporting from the event on hot topics such as agile force modernization, future force generation, possible future engagements and battlefield networks.
Among the top civilian and military officials speaking or participating in forums and seminars at the event are:
- Leon Panetta, secretary of Defense.
- John McHugh, secretary of the Army.
- Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
- Gen. Raymond Odierno, chief of staff of the Army.
- Gen. Peter Chiarelli, vice chief of staff of the Army.
- Gen. Ann Dunwoody, commanding general of the Army Materiel Command.
- Lt. Gen. Susan Lawrence, CIO of the Army.

The Army Training and Doctrine Command will hold a number of sessions on Oct. 10 focusing on its mission. Those sessions will address such topics as 21st Century Training, Apps at the Edge, and Brigade Modernization Using the Agile Process/Network Integrated Evaluation.
