Navy picks contractor to maintain high-profile systems

Contract renewal calls for broad range of IT services and support

L-3 Communications will continue to provide systems engineering and technical support to the Navy under a five-year contract renewal that could be worth as much as $187.4 million.

The cost-plus-fixed-fee award calls for L-3’s Command & Control Systems and Software (C2S2) division, of Eatontown, N.J., to provide a broad array of services, including systems engineering and integration, avionics, software and air vehicle technology insertion, environmental engineering, program performance and engineering assessment, analysis, and planning.

The contract extends a 26-year relationship with the military branch, division president John Medea said in a company announcement today.

The C2S2 division supports a number of services within the Defense Department and other federal agencies, the statement said.
